MT. HOOD MAYFLOWER COLONY
Meeting Minutes April 8, 2006
Our 11:30 a.m. meeting at Hayden’s Grill in Tualatin was called to order by Terri Schieber, followed by the pledge of allegiance by Mel Warner and invocation by Lois Streimer. Ancestral roll call was taken by Susan Foust. Connie Ganz gave the secretary/treasurer report, which was approved.
After lunch, Terri Schieber discussed continuing business. She showed an image of the custom Mayflower pin design and requested approval to order 300 pins. A unanimous showing of hands indicated approval of allowing Terri to pay $225 in advance toward the $447 total for making the pins. In order to assure financial success of the pin sales, a presale sheet was distributed and cash collected in the amount of $155.
The ongoing silver Mayflower genealogy library book donation project was mentioned by Terri, who noted that Doug Davee donated two books. Another point of business was the creation of a Mt. Hood Colony Web site by Connie Ganz. A motion was made and passed to have Connie register the domain name www.mthoodmayflower.com and to create and host a site for one year at the cost of $130. Accounting for all the above business, our checking balance is now $475.25.
A survey was completed by attendees that indicated areas of interest in various volunteer and outreach activities proposed for our colony in the future. Terri Schieber will compile the results and report back at the next meeting.
Terri reminded members of the upcoming state colony meeting at the Sweetbrier Inn in Tualatin on Saturday, May 6, as well as a proposed summer picnic for our Mt. Hood colony on July 29. Our fall quarterly meeting will be held September 30, 2006.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of certificates to colony members, with a special notation made for charter members on this one-year anniversary of our inception.
